Evaporating Dreams

Immigrants are risking their lives

For a better one.

We can legalize marijuana, a drug,

But not immigrants, people.

The fear in their eyes,

Wondering if they'll make it or die,

The baby blue sky up above,

Nothing in sight, just the empty desert.

Skin burning as if they're walking in an oven,

The water evaporating, just like their dreams.

Immigrants are risking their lives

For a better one.
