Even Just Enough

"If there's one thing I'll ever want, it would be to be enough for you. Even just enough to be your best friend..."

Best Friend.
Best Friend.
Best. Friend.
Friend.
Friend.
Friend.
Friend.
Really. I mean.
Really.
Friend?
Best? Friend?
I mean I really hope I more than just a friend to you.
I really hope I'm more than that.
Friends
Friends leave.
Friends move on with their lives.
Friends.
Friends, your friends don't love you like I do.
MyGod. I love you.
I love you.
I really do.
Friend.
I know I said that you are my best friend but damn I meant that I trust you.
I had just said how much I wanted to really be with you. Officially be with you.
Best. Friend.
And
And
And I sat there with my heart ripping open
You said you wanted me to be with someone closer to me.
You thought about location while I thought about mind over matter
I thought about how close I was to you. Not how easy it was to touch you.
I thought of my willingness to try.
And you just keep shutting me down.
"If there's one thing I'll ever want, it would be to be enough for you. Even just enough to be your best friend..."
Best Friend.
Best. Friend.
Friend.
A knife to the heart.

Somewhere between comical and dead honesty. And sometimes death. Or sadness. Depends on the day. But genuinely happy.
