To be kind

When the sun is shining

But it is dark inside your mind

Is the greatest love of all.

To pull yourself out of bed

To kiss them goodbye

Even though you’re filled with dread

Is perhaps a feat of its own.

To make sure they eat

Even when you haven’t in days

And can barely stand on your feet

Is what love is all about.

To love another soul

When you cannot love your own
