Ever all I need

One, I can't live without in my life
is my cat Charlie by my side.
He gives me the strength to make it through the day.
When I'm in distress his comfort lets me know I’ll be okay.

I've been in pain and I've let out tears.
I've hurt inside and given into too many fears.
I wake up with nightmares that keep me awake.
I doubt myself and feel at times I make so many mistakes.
I've overcome many obstacles I could've faced alone.
I have fought through a lot of struggles, I could never have accomplished on my own.
I feel like I've experienced life at its worst.
But Charlie's love has always been a priority of mine, and nurtured the most.

He smiles when I tell him about my day.
I enjoy listening to what he has to say.
He nudges his head on my knee.
He always has to be around me.
He lays his paw on my arm when I'm sick.
He gives me loving kisses on my hand with a lick.
I tell him when I’ll be home,
and he'll be there waiting, no matter where I rhome.

Charlie has always stuck beside me,
and has provided me with the acceptance I need.
He has given me endless love.
He has been the gift God has offered me from above.
Without him in my life, I wouldn't have the strength to fight.

I tell him every day,
that he will always be my number one, who has built me into who I am today.
I tell him to never worry, that he will be remembered,
no matter where he is, or where he goes, we will always be together.
I depend on his love to help me grow.
I love him more than he'll ever know.
He deserves everything in this world, not too big or small,
for all the times I've cried, smiled and fallen.

I shut my mind off from imagining him gone.
I know without him keeping me bound, I will come undone, unwound.
When I hold him close and gaze into his eyes,
he brings me to tears, for such a soul, who has saved me from the darkest of times.

I can't question for a second what it would be like if I didn't have him
to save me of my fears and cleanse me from my sin, forever my friend.

I love Charlie with all of my heart, and nothing will ever tear us apart.
He has always been a special one, and has loved me through all I have done.
I want to thank Charlie for everything he continues to do.
For giving me all the love I'm so blessed to have, for sacrificing so much to see me smile.
I hope to make his life the best, and always lay in peaceful rest.
