Ever-Night

Though it be a daylight hour

As the sun approaches noon,

I know just past this ring of blue

Spin the stars and silver moon.

Buried neath the glowing sun

They lie only out of sight.

For space will always exist

In a state of ever-night.

So writers, painters, poets;

Fret not nights sure departure.

Let night live throughout the day

And on and on forever.

Though the moon sink out of view

And the stars melt in daylight,

Never forget they wait for you

In a state of ever-night.
