Ever quiet, Ever still

Ever quiet

Ever still

Green and gold

Speckled with white

A soft humming grows

Whizzes by

Fades

Leaping and laughing the trees begin to dance

They wave as their invisible friends

Rush by

Pushing over all in their path

In the center of the green and gold

Eyes close below a blanket of blue

The ever quiet, ever still afternoon

Lasts forever
