Ever slipping

Ecclesiastes 5:12

12 The sleep of the laborer is pleasant—whether he eats little or much—
but the wealth of the rich will not allow him to sleep.

Ever slipping

Little understood about the substance of sleep

It returns every night indifferent to any feelings

Designed for good … appearing from the deep

Covering the wrong and right for temporal healing

Spirits don’t sleep … where do they get refreshed?

Don’t they need recharging or some form of repair?

Are they thrown on a heap when failing every test?

Or is the purpose to bring peace in from anywhere?

Mystery confronted … answers now needed

Can life go on when death rules temporal time?

Surely fermented … for ages have heeded

As time rolls on … to show us yours and mine

Acceptance of reality seldom figured out

Living by habits is such a common trap

Loosing the very quality that has little clout

In the bottomless pits … widening the gap
