Evergreen

You won’t find me in the crowd

My colors won’t capture your attention

So what do you see

When you turn to look in my direction?

When I stare into adversity

And the world’s eyes are watching me

I know I don’t have to be afraid

Because I’m not the one on center stage

Even when the seasons change

Who I am remains the same

Because I stand on solid ground

Even hurricanes can’t knock me down

I’ve made my choice

I’ve picked my side

I’m called to lead a servant’s life

To lose for love and gain my sight

This is how I’ll live my life

I’m evergreen

Holding on to my foundation

I am free

Holding out for restoration

Standing for what I believe

Not backing down I’m evergreen
