Every Rose
Our love was like a flower... Our families and friends being the parched, cracked earth that was the foundation for the delicate new relationship that had been formed. And we flourished at first, blooming in happiness. But our foundation might as well have been a sidewalk since you were but a weed disguised as a rose, crawling along the ground, strangling the good from life.
"Because I love you" was a herbicide, except instead of killing the weed, it killed the flower.
You spread over the dried brown remains, moving on to the next flower, not caring about the one already dead. Simply feed off my life so you can live my dear. Because I loved you.
