Every Single Day

You are the paparazzi before dances You are the artist behind my work You are my personal shopper You are my chef and my chauffer You’re the one that I can talk to, Because nobody understands. Or the one that I can vent to, When nobody cares to lend a hand. You’re the lion who protects me. The peacock who shows me off. The cat who will always cuddle with me. And the pit bull who shows my teachers whose boss. You are the one who gave me stability. You are the one who gave me life. You are the one, who holds my hand, Through every hardship and strife. But most of all, I’d like to say You’re the most important person to me, mom, Every single day.
