Everyday Heroes

If I were to teach the world to love

I would show the beauty of diversity

Unique is helpful

Different is strong

We should love what makes us special

To love our world is to appreciate our individuality

If I were to teach the world to love

I would show the sameness of all

Whales are mammals

People are too

We should love our commonality

To love our world is to appreciate our similarities

If I were to teach the world to love

I would show man his fickleness

Focusing on I, me and my

Instead of we, us and our

We should love our connectedness

To love our world is to appreciate our faith and stability

If I were to teach the world to love

I would show the need to preserve our waters

Take nothing for granted

Dive in where needed, time is running short

We should love them all - salt, fresh and brackish

To love our world is appreciate the sea of life

If I were to teach the world to love

I would show the vigilance needed to protect nature

Familiarity breeds contempt

But love conquers all

We should love our sanctuaries

To love our world is to appreciate our everyday heroes
