Everyday a Holiday

Philippians 2:14-15 New English Translation (NET Bible)

14 Do everything without grumbling or arguing, 15 so that you may be blameless and pure, children of God without blemish though you live in a crooked and perverse society, in which you shine as lights in the world.

Fires now glitter in many places

The Prince of Light seems barely remembered

To some, all appears  like Holiday Season

That undresses now the Western World

To me a season that somehow faded

About the years packed in remembrance

And not for any other simple reason

But that just in time destiny's plan unfurled

It seems that somehow the day begins

With the morning light on the dewdrops

Set aside day in and out for a reflection

To add beauty to flowers, trees, and grass

So every day as a Holiday season spins

to provide for all creation the blessed crops

to freely rejoice in sustenance and satisfaction

as a gift un-interrupted prepared in the past

Mostly ignored or often taken for granted

As our brain searches for an instant reality

How to track the problems, which we’re facing

In a daily search for comfort or more like a fad

Routinely throwing self in an effort too slanted

To fill our “need” beyond the desire of quality

As some pray within conscience’s divided spaces

To be caught by greed in someone else’s made-up net
