Everyone

Everyone would be like a child again

Filled with a sense of wonder, and playfulness.

Everyone would see in The Other

Aspects of themselves.

And people would pay a bit more attention

To the homeless woman on the street

Or the angry child sitting next to them.

Everyone would feel a greater need

To stop, and listen, and help.

Hearts would be larger, and warmer

But stronger as well.

Men would put down their guns and hold hands

In brotherhood.

Christian or Buddhist

Atheist or Muslim

Gay or Straight

Man or Woman,

Or somewhere in-between.

If everyone lived a little more like

The world was worth living for

Then everything might just turn out alright.
