Everyone needs a pity party

Everyone needs a pity party From time to time To proclaim all the injustice To cry “woe is me” Unto the empty feathers And mats and cotton sheets Damp then wet Alone on the island We built for such occasions We gaze and reflect And cry “woe is me” Underline the pains and aches the bumps the bruises The scratches, scrapes Nicks, cuts Lacerations to emotion Which once beat so proud And skipped in excitement Now quakes with a thought And weighs heavy in remembrance So we sit Or lie or curl And shake and quiver Until we can once more Slow the bleeding step off the island stop “woe is me”

I wrote this because love hurts, but in the end it's for the better.
