Everyone Waits

There was a simplicity in the hum

Surrounding the chirps of the crickets

Nature seemed calmed

Previously hurt by a world of terrors

Everyone waits

The leaves of the shrubs moved slightly

The sun rose above the clouds

Too hot to handle

Someone sat on their balcony

They waited

The crowd stood silent

And everyone waited
