Everything

Everything I do reminds me of you

And my thoughts cannot escape

The dangerous pit

I get through the day

Barely

I see you in the halls

Rarely

You make me cry in my mother’s lap

Stain my father’s shirt with my tears

Worry my friends with my sobs

And my voice shake when I pray

You push me down to the ground

Where I hate it the most

And just when I’m standing straight and tall once again

You shove me down another time

You avoid me at all costs

For months on end

But now here you are

Starting to stare once again

Grow up and talk to me

Grow up and leave me be

Grow up and stop judging

Grow up and do something

Anything
