Everything and the Kitchen Sink

She fires up the stove

Eggs, bacon, toast

The others wait

Scrubs the dishes

Throws in a pile

Tornado strikes the room

She sighs and smiles

Pb&j is the order of the day

Cut into equal triangles

Sweep, swipe, squeaky clean

Another trip to the washing machine

From stove to table

And table to mouth

Bathe, brush, whispering hush

Time for a bedside fable

She dreams of tomorrow in her slumber
