Everything Can Be Twisted
You are the reason that I still go on,
You are the reason that I still draw breath,
You are the reason that I can see light.
When I point at the dark and its immensity,
You show me the moon and its purity,
You make the world seem less boding.
When I linger in the salty water of my own making,
You lift me above it and make my world stop shaking,
You are my uplifting wind.
When I heft every heavy weight onto my soul,
You gently take it and let me know that I am still whole,
You save me from overpowering defeat.
When I look around and see all that I have done wrong,
You say that mistakes have led me to greatness all along,
You set my perspective in line.
When I despair that everything good is fleeting,
You take my hand and keep me from retreating,
You never let me cower in my bleakness.
You remind me that all is not tainted,
You remind me that even I am not in stone,
You remind me that everything can be twisted.
