Everything Is Fine

A park bench Wooden, solid, normal Laughter of children on the wind Few clouds darken the bright fall sky Closed eyes, bask in the warmth And so it begins Mute terror, eyes watch you Tingling sent down your spine Laughter turns to shrieks of pain The world tightening its grip on you Can't breathe, can't see Through the shadows of your mind Eyes opened, world at peace Grass still green, sky still blue Children happy to be outside Wind light and playful And as the shadows lurk within you Everything is fine
