Everything Proves That God is Real

As a kid, life is hard

We just want our homework to be starred
And we just want to play with our friends
But when things go wrong, it is God that mends
God mends hurt feelings when other kids don’t play
He mends hurt feelings when kids leave and you stay
He helps you cope when you just want to run away

As teenagers, it doesn’t always seem like God is there
As a teenager, when you swear only your parents glare
but if you don’t swear all your friends stare
It is difficult to choose
So teenagers think up a ruse
Swear at school but not at home
Only swear at school where we roam

Then as a teenager you realize you’re in a sticky situation
Nobody said there would be so much temptation while trying to get an education
Everything is rolling down on you all at once
You then realize you have changed completely in just a matter of months
You wonder where all your friends went, the friends from church
You start to ponder, wonder and search
The friends you need have all been coming closer to the Lord
That’s when the saying “Get on the straight and narrow!” roared

As a young adult you realize God was always there
He was just hoping that you would care
He tested us and tried us, maybe caused us to fuss
but never ever did he leave us
He always had the bishop, friends, and family close by
There is no reason anybody should give up and sigh

As a young adult I knew God was real
God is the real deal
Now a mission is where I will go
Luggage I shall stow
But because I have turned to God I will never have to look low
I now know God is with me
I see him in everything that I see

Flowers wouldn’t exist without God’s hand
Without God we might just be sand
That is so crazy
Sometimes it even makes me hazy
Everything proves that God is real
Everything. The Temple which can seal
The family that can play
The friends that say hey
The food on our plate
Our bodies in our earthly state

Everything denotes God is really there
Especially when we find the other half to our pair
God enables us to be sealed without end
Then when our marriage starts to rend
And things go wrong
We can stay strong
because we know we have the same goal
Trying to be like God, that’s how we roll.
