Everything Will Be Okay

It seems like I was molded

By someone who couldn’t help but to make

Me this way.

They left me crying

Sobbing about something

I could not control.

Curled up

Crushed by the force of such a soft blanket.

I could not help but to stay in the fetal position.

It only felt natural.

Tears rolled onto my pillow as if

I was trying to create a river.

Mom comes running in.

She holds me tight.

Repeating

“You are okay, everything will be okay.”

I didn’t believe these words

Nor did I want to.

She sang a familiar tune, but

I couldn’t actually hear anything.

I wanted to tune out of

Absolutely everything.

This is a disaster.

Life is crazy and

I don’t understand how

It even works.

I don’t think I ever will.

At the same time

That is okay.

Mom was right.

Everything will be

Okay
