An Evil Bottle

As a little girl I never understood my father.

He was a drunk man.

But oh how I still loved him!

As a little girl I just wanted to play with him.

He was too busy being  ignorant.

But oh how I still loved him!

As a little girl I saw how he was  cruel to my mother.

He was too busy being someone I did not know.

But oh how my heart still loved my father!

The years raced by and I began to fly.

I began to know that strange man.

He left his evil ways and,

he soon began to be my loving friend.

But oh how I have never thought what such cruelty alcohol really is!

Alcohol took my everything!

Oh damn you alcohol!

You've changed the man that I deeply love!

Now I have to watch him slowly die!

But Lord O' Mighty! Give me the strength to help me continue fly!

As the young lady I am now I finally understand my father.

He was trapped in an evil bottle.

But oh how much he changed and now I love him more than ever!
