Evolution

We are born with the red ribbon of life flowing from us. and as we progress the bright red bow of innocence entices our enemies, covers our eyes and blinds us, chokes us, trips us. So we reach for the crimson banner of anger and the color of life empowers us. We begin to place the scarlet burden of judgment on others and our face becomes acquainted with the warm blush of shame. Cardinal passion hypnotizes our broken hearts, and the crime of selfishness destroys us and our victims, the ribbon flowing from them. Here lies Innocence, the maiden mother adorned with blood roses. The soft warm glow of life since departed. The red ribbon of life abandoned long ago.
