Evolution

The windows have to change in this God-forbidden place Not even carving your name on the glass, still breaks, still faces displacement Go ahead, buy it back from the devil and shovel to dig where your ghosts lay Even the tombstones ain't the same And you can cover it up with paint and say you'll never change But you're faced with this every single day If you walk on the concrete long enough, remorse, it's inevitable when you stray And it pains you, leaves you picking leeches from your skin Roaming in the garden that was hated It's all gone now, replaced Nothing is ever stagnant And you can feel it in the cracks of your skin from the frozen air called "Fate" Face it, hate it or not something is always going to change That's the beauty in time It's all gone Gone now Moving with the shift of the clock Even a minute gets sucked through the slits of this awful alteration These walls feel it too, you just don't realize We're moving to the shift of the clock When the hand strikes 12 place your bets on the rocks That you're hiding with and try to break the time to a stop It's a process, this is a process
