The Evolution of Hansel and Gretel's Witch

Deep in the forest was a cottage ever so sweet,

Baked entirely by a sunny and joyful fairy.

She and her husband wanted a child, so hairy,

But after many years, they sighed in defeat.

He left her for one who could accomplish this feat.

Her heart and appearance soon after became scary.

All she wanted was a child in her stomach to carry.

In time, her solution, she would meet.

Along pranced Hansel and Gretel ever so cheery.

Greedy for food and delicious candy, they ate.

She made a plan she never thought she would.

She would stuff them until fatigued and weary.

Season them in their sleep, preparing her plate.

Soon her stomach would hold a child, she knew she could.
