(poems go here) Adrenaline, Oxytocin, Dopamine, Serotonin
That rush you get when you stare in to their eyes
The fast beat of your heart, the sweat on your brow that fight or flight mentality
Your nervous twitch and self-conscious thoughts all as intoxicating as a freshly brewed cup of coffee.
It’s not that familial type of love, that love which in itself is comfortable and warm. Trust bonded to your soul since the beginning of time, a right bestowed upon you since birth.
This love is not comfortable not logical and definitely not reasonable.
This love leaves you hanging on a cliff, this love is temperamental.
The love so opposing the love received from your grandmother that one might interpret it as hate. Her love was easy, unconditional, like a cocoon of goose down and cotton.
Not this love
This love makes you want to wear a mask as if the love doesn’t exist.
This love is hot, it ignites, it fizzles, it dies
The embers turn to smoke, smoke turns into tears and misunderstanding
That feeling. That feeling of loss. That comes along with death betrayal or abandonment.
It never quite goes away.
Love is cruel as cruel as it is kind but never leaves you
Love is not an element to be found on the periodic table however it is to vital to life
Lending a double meaning to its chemistry
Adrenaline, Oxytocin, Dopamine, serotonin
Its logic is confounding yet so emotional that it means everything and nothing.
