The Evolution of Writing

Is there anything to write when everything has already been said? When the most common metaphor seems the most appropriate And originality inappropriate. Dead. Yes, her hair was like silk. When communication and words shrink day by day, Text through text, Facebook post through Facebook post And everybody talks but they do not say. Yes, I like boba too. If letters leave us, what of voice? What of leather-bound worlds And pictures painted with a pen? Writing “u” instead of “you” is a choice. ?4U. Wat r u doing? Writing is dying. It dies with us. The pen is a burden. A callus on the hand. Correct spelling is troublesome. Y do we need it? Creating a world on paper is too much work. Lies. Paper is my dominion, the Dictionary is my arsenal, Words are my life force, Writing is my hope. Writing, producing, composing, inventing. Creativity, passion, drive, originality. Expression is invaluable. Personal. There will always be something to write, To produce, to compose, to invent, to say. Always. Individuals will.
