Evolving..

I've been through a handfull of ups and downs,

Nobody to call on so I constantly wore frowns,

Afraid to speak up but I knew god was listening,

Morning jogs to the river to see the water glistening,

I knew one day all my prayers would be heard,

Constantly falling off my path because my vision was blurred,

But I knew good days would come to those that waited,

Always following the lights because darkness always baited,

I'm writing this to hopefully get a better chance at life,

A second chance to get away from this targeted knife..
