Ex

A mentor can be one you adore,

A mentor can be one you abhore,

A mentor must be one in which you learn more,

More than before.

In times of ignorance,

When I thought the world made sense,

When I thought I was looking down to peasents,

When all actuality I was the one people resent.

She guided me to blindspots,

Places in my mind that I'd boycott,

Corners of my being that I truly thought,

Held no flaws... but it was just a thought.

I rejected it to be true,

Couldn't let insecurities come through,

Eventhough the temptation would be easy to breakthrough,

And because of my stubborn being I had lost you.

Though I lost an important significant,

I do not repent,

I do not hide in my tent,

I don't treat my emotions like overdue rent.

Thanks to your harsh words I am free,

I now know who I am meant to be,

I can live my life honestly,

Never to live for the others but to live for me.
