Excalibur's Side of The Stone

He sat there, staring at the crowd,

He saw lines of people being oh so loud.

One by one, they approached his thrown,

Little did he know, he was the sword in the stone.

Up to this day no one seemed to bother,

Not even his mother, not even his father.

But today was different, the town buzzed with glee

He thought, “wait is this really ‘because of me?”

One by one, on his head they tugged,

When they couldn’t move him, they turned away and shrugged.

He thought to himself, Man my heads getting sore!

I wish instead of bothering me they just went to the new store!

As the day grew old and his head grew weak,

With each passing minute the town grew meek.

The last man approached, bowing his head

He readied himself filled with dread.

To his surprise he was lifted off the ground

“PUT ME DOWN” he yelled with a frown.

Arthur raised him up high and swung him around

Arthur was the chosen one!

The only thing is, the sword didn’t want to be found.
