Excellence Is NOT Subjugation !

"Be perfect and proper!"

"Be quiet and calm!"

"Always stay in order!"

-That's the idea put in my palm.

"Why are you so loud?"

"Be more like the crew!"

-Forcing me to not be proud

Of who I am, what I do.

"Don't ask and don't question!"

"Just do as you're told!"

-But is that the solution?

Should I really not be bold?

Forcing me to surrender,

And to be a follower.

But there's more to excellence,

Than being a Living Pretense.
