Exceptional at the Least
I clock into the reality in which I cannot hold.
I brace myself for words that choke me behind my eyes.
I tense up when you touch me because no one was ever so kind.
About the world they say, yet we are still in hiding.
I'm waiting among the others as I get dragged through the current.
My eyes fill with salt and overflow with tears.
Words again cannot express my thoughts choked.
I turned to you and I woke up with my hands brittle and cold.
I kissed your lips on that winter eve
I turned back to you, but you were gone.
Your pinched nose and squeaky laugh that is forever lost within me.
I will pick up the petal that fell off as you rode your bike faster into the night.
Now I stare at my ceiling.
Choking sobs and forgiving myself to not breathe.
I can't hold back anylonger
I must meet you on the other side.
Forever together
In my own little world, in which I cannot see.
