This is a phrase

That will live on this earth for the rest of my days

Driving, thriving, surviving forward

Until all of my feelings and emotions are poured

What an incredible excuse

For all of this physical and emotional abuse

But if falling in love is seen as all

All of this hurt isn’t worth the fall

Because I love you

Isn’t just for romantic use

In friendships too the meaning is loose

Because she loves you

She tells you her truth

You’re not very pretty, but at least you have your youth

Love is a universal ideology

But it only seems like fanciful mythology

When love entangles itself in pain

Everything from you it has the power to drain

Love hurts, it’s common knowledge

But why do we let feelings hold all of us hostage

Because I love you

It cripples you to your knees

And you think someone loves you, so you accept their pleas

Because I love you

It’s a simple excuse

Because I love you

Is justification for this world full of abuse

This isn’t healthy

No love that’s wealthy

And full of hope and joy

Is treated like a toy

Love is gentle, love is kind

And they say that love won’t mind

If that is love then it must be surviving

In this world of hate that seems to be thriving

Because they love you

They will shield you from the pain

Of facing this world again and again

A love that is flourishing

Means you must always be nourishing

The bud of love inspiringly growing

Even with friends, care must be showing

Yes we are young, we have our youth

Now it’s our mission to spread the truth

Because I love you

I will keep my arms open wide
