Excuse the Mess
Excuse the Mess,
I have things I suppose I need to confess,
We've been begging for 150 years,
Shedding blood, sweat, and tears,
Begging for equality,
They've taken us with frivolity,
Causing casuality,
Excuse the mess,
As you can digest,
My brothers and sisters lay in vain,
Have been slain by the insane,
Excuse the mess,
I have something to confess,
Racism lies so diligently,
creeping in so silently,
Aren't we created in his image?
Can you say my name?
Can you say that of my brothers and sisters too?
It made sense,
Those words that came from Ms. Badu,
Excuse me but I have some questions,
Can you take these dark confessions?
We seem to be a blemish,
Black devils,
A race that gets treated like garbage on different levels,
Excuse the mess,
Becareful where you stand,
Becareful what you say,
Because today is when s#*t hits the fan....
Excuse the mess
These are things I must confess
Something wrong with this poem?
