A heartbeat accelerates, blood coursing
through protruding veins of scarlet and blue.
Harder and harder to push oneself through
indescribable pain, often forcing
legs to keep moving; the mind divorcing
the physical strife from the mental stew.
Endorphins are sent throughout and imbue
intoxicating thoughts; reinforcing.

A face flushing, just the afterimage
of an hour well spent; reaching the point
of no return, with legs feeling like lead.
But I am feeling like I am average,
legs, abs, and arms creating a disjoint;
but I do not fret, just crawl into bed.
