Exonerate

If forgiveness was a color,

It would be teal-aquamarine,

rolling roughly over the waves,

then slowly smoothing out.

If forgiveness was a taste

it would taste sour on the tongue

with a sweetness that grows.

If forgiveness was a smell

it would be a delightful smell

of hope and promise,

however that smell to you.

If forgiveness was a feeling,

it would be a combination of

regret and redemption.

If forgiveness was a sound,

it would be an eerie insidious scream,

then a relaxing silence.
