Expectations Vs. My Reality
My expectations never seem to align,
Reality always seems to take another path.
I think I see things as a sign,
But it's just the universe having another laugh.
I wish the movie in my head was real,
Every scene is vivid and bright,
And life seems so surreal.
In my dreams he actually holds me tight.
If my daydreams came true,
You wouldn't be so curt.
I would be alone with you,
And I finally wouldn't feel hurt.
Someday my expectations will meet my reality,
And my dreams won't feel so sappy.
You will see,
When that time comes I will truly be happy.
