Expected

You expect me to be there through the days
When you weren't there all the way.
There comes days when I still cry,
because with divorced parents it's hard to get by.
I try to be the number 1 daughter that they both want me to be,
but it doesn't always come out that way because at the end of the day I'm still me.
I don't want to disappoint them but they both disappointed me,
Why would you have a child if the both of you knew you weren't meant to be.
Don't get me wrong I'm happy I'm here,
but as the days go on I grow in fear.
Fear of loosing my dad because he has a new life,
and fear of loosing my mom because I just don't listen.
My parents don't always set good examples for me,
but that's just how life is going to be.
I think I've been messed up every since they were apart,
and every since then I've never really had a heart.
I know life is meant to be hard,
so I just have to put up my guard.
Fight my way day and night,
Smile with pride and look forward at the light.
I love my parents but why them together?
Maybe it was a mistake but lowkey a treasure.
