Expensive Education

The one thing I would change in this world

would be making education free for every boy and girl.

While these contests are great I find them absurd

For a college student to hinge his education on a series of words,

that may or may not save him from debt

His whole life hanging onto a single set

of words, sentences, essays, and poems

His last and only hope is to show 'em.

But he's gotta be different

from all of his peers

But he's to busy to focus

He's to busy with fear

that he's wasting his time

waiting in a virtual line

trying to get money on time

for a tuition payment.

But it's not a payment.

It's a statement

It's a fine for not being better

Than the thousands of other guys.

Then he'll have to walk into class and try to focus

Even though his primary task is to fight the debt locusts.

So If I had to change one thing

It would be for everyone to be educated.

Freely.
