The Experience of Hearing Poetry

Warm laps of water beat down my skin.

I feel reknewed again.

Its a soft beating rhythmn that pierces my soul,

A constant shift in tone that makes my heart tighten.

I feel the flow down my body to my toes as Im eaten inside out,

Gorge upon my emotions as the voice takes me slowly.

Then I am gone, lost entirely to sound and feel.

I am no longer a bound human soul, I am a thought,

Unrestrained and held only by the minds that keep me,

So keep me.
