Experiencing Poetry

(poems go here) Experiencing Poetry I’m tired of writing poetry, it really is a bore. Nothing seems to rhyme, and my hand is getting sore. Should I write about running, perhaps my family, or my friends Or basketball, or cats- the list just never ends. I think I’ll ditch the rhyming; I’ll just leave it altogether. Maybe free verse is the way to go- yes, I’m sure I’ll like it better. But no, free verse does not work None of my ideas come out On paper As I have them in my head. I want emotion; love, drama, adventure! And yet, I cannot find anything exciting At all. So now I’m back where I began with no subject, object, or theme. I’m quite ready to be done, but… I could try a different rhyme scheme. Only now I have a problem, and its consequence is key. This rhythm is in my head and it will not let me be! And I’m stuck with AABB and no matter what I do I can’t create AABA, and you know what? I’m through. A bigger problem has now come forth- do you have a hand to lend? For despite my hate for poetry, I can’t get this poem to end. I see you’re laughing- are you in my shoes and have you walked a mile? ‘Cause I tried to take a break, but I was speaking in this style. So what do you suggest I do, so I can live my life As I did before I started- free from all this poetry strife. But I have found a painless way to end- the easiest way to quit. I will stop just very suddenly- before you even know it. The End.
