Express

I write to say things my mouth won't.

Poetry is my way of expressing myself,

Expressing how I feel.

Expressing my true pain.

Silently shedding the tears I refuse to let fall.

No one knows what true feelings lie within.

Putting on an act,

playing a role,

Everything to conceal who she is.

Third person keeps it all in perspective.

Never truly accepting that it's her who feels it all.

But reading it over and over again.

To remind her of how she feels when it's done.

Poems free her from her mind.

They take the weight off her shoulders.

Even if it is just for a little while.
