Poetry is an art, 

A meduim of words. 

It can come from the mind, 

Showing passion or pain. 

I write to express, 

It becomes an outlet for emotions. 

Only for my eyes, 

I can pretend to speak my mind. 

But sometimes, 

I can write to inspire. 

Not only for myself, 

I will write words for other's ears. 

Typically free verse,

I can't be bond by rhyming or structure. 

I make my own style, 

So it suits my own needs. 

Poems to me are a way to stay free,

An art form without binding rules. 

It becomes a tool of expression, 

Or an incredible mean of inspiration.
