Expresson Is Confession

The darkness is solace The wild flame is intriguing Survival is biased The look in one’s eyes is often deceiving Expression is empowered Explanation is Zen At least that’s what the old man with the top hat said Father to mine Teacher to me Pen to paper Poetry can be Just about anything you desire A flickering light or a burning fire The old woman in the park The young man at the bus stop The gift does not discriminate Nor does it intimidate The countless souls who wield its power Fight with it in hand till the last calming hour Yes that old man was wiser than most Poetry is but a guest the power is within the host The ink may run but it’s the words that bleed Expression is confession is what he told to me
