Expropriation

I was once a home,

My foundation strong and sturdy.

But all you did was lead me astray.

“It’s an intrusion of my space,” I say

While I try to push you away.

You continue your invasion

Until I try to turn the lock,

Hoping it will all end one day.

But you’ve already taken over,

And I can’t take back what’s mine.
