Extend a Hand

That girl over there lost her parents,

a cheerful girl, now so sad.

If someone would just extend a hand,

if someone would pick her up again,

her brilliant smile would shine out again.

That boy over there is always bullied,

a great kid, but no friends.

If someone would just extend a hand,

if someone would be his friend,

his brilliant words would be heard again.

That woman over there has no home,

no money, no job.

If someone would just extend a hand,

if someone would get her on her feet,

her brilliant mind could make a change.

There are people everywhere who just need a hand

to pick them off the ground and dust them off.

If we could all just extend a hand,

if we could all just help another person,

we could make this world a better place.
