Eye Candy
I may look like as sweet as your favorite candy but kid don’t touch or else you will contaminate me with your filthy hands who knows what you’ve touched. Now you can say that I was one of those things but that is not a prize. My name is not plastered on your tongue like the colors of a lollipop. Your name is stuck to my brain like honey and all you can think about is my taste, my cotton candy skin but You picked me apart, little by little. Latching onto you by your finger tips and made me just sugar that sat on the notch on your belt. You showed thats it was easy to unwrap me saying“ if you want some love so sweet it will make your teeth rot you’ll know her when you see her” was I too sweet, did you need a little kick or punch of sassy sour candy. I hope she makes your lips pucker like you were sucking on a lemon. I hope she makes you cry, makes you twitch, makes you hold on to everything you think you have left. Then you’ll know how I feel except... I had nothing to hold on too. You gave me something to live for then took it away. Was it like taking candy from a baby? Or was it like stealing the whole bowl of it on my welcome mat even though I said “take one”?
It was a trick to me but a treat for you
