Eyes
You couldn’t look me in the eye
I knew it was because
You didn’t want to see my pain
But it was there
Out in the open
I just wanted to see your eyes
I wanted to see that you felt something
Felt some type of pain for
Hurting me the way you did
I’m sorry for hurting you
It was the pain talking
I want us to be us again
I want us to be happy
With each other
Just like we used to
I want to see that smile
That made my stomach flutter
And my mind go nuts
I want to see your nose crumple
And you look down
Because you think i’m cute
I want you
Dammit I want you
So freaking bad
It’s crazy
The thing is
I don’t fall for people easy
I try to protect my heart
Because i’ve been hurt so many times in
This damned thing I call life
But i let you have it
I trusted you
Another thing I don’t give easily
I trusted you with
The thing I’ve had to fix a million times
I didn’t want to have to fix it again
But now I do
Now I have that familiar pressure in my chest
That reminds me just how much life sucks
And that’s when i do it
That’s when the neon colors come to my mind
To temporarily cure me of this blinding pain
You’ve got me still
You have me at your beckoned call
Just give me a hollar
And i’ll be by your side
That’s why i don’t fall
Cs once i fall
I stay down
And i hate being down
I just want to see your eyes
I want you to look into mine
See my pain
See what i feel
Look me in the eye
So we never have to say goodbye
Maybe then
You’ll realize that we
Were meant to be
