The Eyes

Beep, beep, beep. Here I am waking up in the hospital.

No, no, no my mind is heavy with questions.

Why can’t I open my eyes?

People around me are in day or night?

Trying to open my eyelids brings the pain.

I’m searching for a number in my phone.

Should I call my parents? Will they be scared?

It’s been two days since I have seen the sun.

I’m crying as I am do my homework

I fear blood and pain from my eyes. Possibly blindness.

I feel that I am stuck.

Is this my fault or the fault of someone else?

Suffering day by day. Trying to accept my possible fate.

Telling myself it could have been worse.

Learning to appreciate my life and all I have.

The fear of blood, pain, and blindness slowly fades.

I start to smile. :)
