The Eyes to Ignite the Light

In looking to ignite the light,

I found an inner fight

But to my surprise

I was greeted with caring eyes

Eyes so full of wonder and fear

They told me to come here

As I approached I was weary

For I did not know what I wanted, clearly

The eyes I met were an ocean blue

And they said “I can help you”

They taught me the way

To make it my day

Showed me how to love and inspire

Just until I had a creative gunfire

Thoughts firing at me from here and there

I was prepared to err

But since the eyes had led me to the light

I knew not to fright

For I knew I had no other

That was like my mother
